AD ALTARE DEI AND POPE PIUS XII PROGRAMS OFFERED IN NEW HORIZON

The next instructional classes for both the Ad Altare Dei Award - a study of

the 7 Sacraments for Scouts in 7th grade or higher, AND the Pope Pius XII

Award - a study in Christian Living for Scouts in 9th grade or higher, will

start September 9. These programs are sponsored by St. Clare's Troop 371

but are open to Catholic Boy Scouts from any Troop.

Meetings for each will be held roughly every other week through December.

AD ALTARE DEI AND  POPE PIUS XII PROGRAMS OFFERED IN THE THUNDERBIRD DISTRICT

A Scout is reverent: He is reverent toward God.

He is faithful in his religious duties and respects the convictions of others in matters of custom and religion.

The Knights of Columbus Council # 453, the sponsoring organization for the St. Mary Magdalen Boy Scout Troop # 115 of the Thunderbird District, has volunteered to provide the Thunderbird District with an Ad Altare Dei and Pope Pius XII Catholic Award workshop for interested troops.  Troop # 16, from St. Cecilia’s Parish, has graciously volunteered to aid the St. Mary Magdalen troop with the execution of these programs.   Laura Collins and Tony Mortellaro, adult leaders from Troop # 16, and Ed Bradley, District Representative for the Catholic Committee for Scouting, B.S.A. liaison to the Thunderbird District will be assisting in this endeavor.  The start date is Sunday May 7th 2006 at the St. Mary Magdalen school cafeteria, starting at 9:30 am with an opportunity of celebrating mass at 10:30 am.  For more information or to make a reservation, please feel free to contact Joe Miklovic at 314.353.1062 - home / 314.641.8696 – work.
